The rules of the games: Card Games: Caribbean Poker:
  • The purpose of the game

    Caribbean Poker is a card game the goal of which is to get a better Poker hand than the dealer. The deck has 52 cards from Twos to Aces in each suit. The highest card is an Ace, the lowest is a Two. The deck is shuffled before every dealing.

  • Game Rules

    The only player takes part in the game competing with the dealer. The game box consists of two fields for bets. One of them is called ANTE (pre-bet), the other is called BET (the bet itself).
    Before dealing the player makes a pre-bet by putting one or more chips on ANTE field. The player needs to click on a corresponding chip in order to make a pre-bet. Antes must not be more than 1 and less than 300. Then the player presses "Deal".
    The dealer deals five cards to the player and five cards to himself during the dealing. The cards are alternately dealt face-down. The last dealer’s card is turned face up.
    The player looks at the cards and evaluates his hand. The player will first or last have to compare his hand to the dealer’s one. A higher hand wins. The only dealer’s card is opened and this is the only information available to the player.

  • Poker combinations

    Every hand is evaluated against one of the eleven combinations. The lowest combination is called empty ("no game"), the other combinations are called significant. A combination is defined by the value of its cards as well as by their suits. The order in which the cards are received does not matter. The ranking of Caribbean Poker Combinations, in decreasing order, is as follows:

    • Royal Flush - the highest poker hand: 5 highest cards of the same suit (Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10).

    • Straight Flush – straight in the same suit.

    • Four of a Kind – 4 cards of the same rank, for ex. 4 Jacks or 4 Fives (plus one extra card).

    • Full house – 3 cards of the same rank and 2 of another one, for example, 6-6-6-King-King.

    • Flush - 5 cards of the same suit.

    • Straight - 5 cards in consecutive order, regardless of suit, for ex., 9-8-7-6-5, with an Ace either being the highest ranking card (A-K-Q-J-10), or being the lowest ranking card (5-4-3-2-A). The Ace within the combination does not make up a Straight (e.g. 3-2-Ace-King-Queen).

    • Three of a Kind - 3 cards of the same rank, for ex., 9-9-9-Q-4.

    • Two Pairs – two sets of two cards of the same rank, for ex., A-A-5-5-10.

    • Pair – two cards of the same rank, for ex., 8-8-K-4-2.

    • Ace-King – an Ace and a King of various suits, for ex., Ace-King-8-7-3.

    • No Hand - cards do not make any of the above mentioned combinations, for ex., J-10-7-5-2.
    Higher combination leads to the better hand. If two hands are related to the same combination, they are valued as in the regular poker by the rank of the cards.

    For example:

    • Ace-King A-K-J-3-2 is higher than A-K-10-9-8 (Jack is higher than Ten);

    • Pair 5-5-4-3-2 is higher than 4-4-A-K-Q (only values of paired cards are compared);

    • Pair 5-5-Q-3-2 is higher than 5-5-J-10-9 (Queen is higher than Jack);

    • Two pairs A-A-2-2-3 is higher than K-K-Q-Q-A (the values of the higher pair cards are compared);

    • Straight A-K-Q-J-10 – is the highest, 5-4-3-2-A – is the lowest;

    • Full 3-3-3-2-2 is higher than 2-2-2-A-A (the value of three of a King is higher than Pair).

    There are no priorities among the suits. That is why two pairs of the same rank have the same value. For example, Hearts Flush Royal is equivalent to Clubs Flush Royal.

    After looking at his hand, a player decides which of the three possible actions to take:

    Decision 1. Fold immediately. The player presses “Fold" and the bet ANTE is lost. The game is over.

    Decision 2. Continue playing with the cards the player has got.
    If this is the case, then the player presses "Call", which automatically makes the bet twice his ANTE. Sometimes the above described procedure is called “ANTE Raising”.

    Decision 3. Try to change all five cards to get a better combination. In order to change cards you need to choose them, to click on the chosen cards and to press "Change". The exchange of five cards costs one Ante. The dealer draws new cards. Then the player examines his hand and makes Decision 2 if the exchange has been successful. If the player fails, then the only decision he can make is Decision 1 which means to stop the game. There are no more alternatives left.

    There are also some restrictions upon the exchange of cards: the exchange of cards is limited to three times and it is impossible at all if the player hasn’t got enough money on his account to make a bet after the payment for the exchange of cards.

    Once the player has made his decision the dealer exposes his cards. Let us suppose he has got the significant combination. Then the dealer’s hand is equal to the player’s one. If the player’s hand is lower he loses his wager. When equal hands occur the player keeps his bets. The most interesting things start to happen when the dealer loses.
    ANTE is paid 1 to 1. Bets are paid according to your poker combination.

  • The list of the ratio

    Combination Ratio
    --------------------------------------
    Royal flush 100 to 1
    Straight flush 50 to 1
    Four-of-a-King 20 to 1
    Full House 7 to 1
    Flush 5 to 1
    Straight 4 to 1
    Tree-of-a-King 3 to 1
    Two pairs 2 to 1
    Pair 1 to 1
    Ace-King 1 to 1
    --------------------------------------

    If the bet ANTE is 10 (which means the Bet to be 20) the player’s total winnings with Full House are 150. For Royal flush the player gets 2010.

    The above mentioned things take place when the dealer has got a significant combination. Otherwise the player’s cards don’t matter and it is said that “the dealer does not qualify”. In either case the player wins even if he has “no hand” (in that case his winnings will equal his ANTE).
